Tattoo FAQs

Yes. Some locations on the body are more sensitive than others, especially joints and more boney areas, ie. Your shin.

An annoying burning sensation for the duration of the tattoo. Think of a long lasting bee sting or a cat scratch on sunburn.

NO. I do not tattoo minors in compliance with Wisconsin Statute SPS 221.10(1)(b)(3) . Wisconsin is NOT a parental consent state either. See you on your 18th birthday!

It is easy! Bring proof of being 18 or older with a government issued identification. Be well rested prior to the appointment. Eat a hearty and healthy meal. Drink lots of water. Do not drink heavily 24 hours prior to. (Alcohol will thin your blood causing your body to reject the tattoo or not heal properly.) Bring a friend or family member for support. You may bring snacks or beverages for longer sessions. Finally, a good attitude and yourself!

YES. Tattoos are 3- 4 layers beneath the skin. Tattoo removal does exist, however it is much more painful and expensive. I personally can do cover ups just not removal itself.

Yes! Absolutely yes! I may have to adjust the color palette slightly or alter the design to make it more breathable but those are minor adjustments to help with aging of the art itself. Everyone, no matter your complexion, has warm or cool undertones naturally in your skin which helps me to determine the best tones of color for you. Basically the easiest way to explain this is that your skin acts as a filter, since new skin will ALWAYS heal over the tattoo making it permanent.

Just myself at this time. I am a solo artist and business owner.

I am all for bringing support whether it is friends or family. Just keep in mind my suite fits about 6 people comfortably including myself and who I am tattooing. Due to the nature of tattooing and my small space, I do not allow emotional support animals or children. As much as I love animals, it would not be sanitary to bring them into my work area, you will need an emotional support human or stuffed animal for my appointments. Children are wonderful little humans… outside of the tattoo suite. Please plan accordingly and make arrangements for child care prior too or you risk of being charged a cancellation fee. (See my Cancellation Policy section for more.) It is up to my discretion to let any minors in during a session, please ask before hand.

With proper application and aftercare practices my tattoos normally heal within 1- 3 weeks. Smaller and less detailed tattoos can take a shorter amount of time , ie. Line work, lettering, etc. Larger and more intricate tattoos can take longer due more pores being open from the application, ie. Solid color, more details etc. Please refer to my Aftercare and Deposit Policy for additional information.

Please dress according to the placement of your tattoo. Darker and loose fitting clothing is ideal. Bring a change of clothing if you need to, especially with colder months. Let your hair down and show up as comfortable as you like, no judgements here!

No. My studio is more than equipped and properly sanitized to do all of my work with little to no outside distractions.

No, I am strictly a tattooist. I also do not sell jewelry or tattoo supplies.

Yes! Many of the brands I use are indeed vegan.

Yes, I can and have done before upon request. You do run a higher risk of infection due to how your body may react not only to the ink but to the ashes as well. (Additional contaminants may or may not be present with in the ashes.) However because they are ashes being put into a liquid, it is more of a symbolic gesture. The reality is they wont actually end up in your tattoo. The ashes will just dissolve and disappear. I personally would be willing too for the clients sake and have in the past but again it is more symbolic. I tell clients if they want something physical from their ashes, get a pendant to put them in or to have them turned into a diamond.

Unfortunately, no. I would have to create a stencil of what you have but would have to wait until the henna is gone to tattoo you. Henna is toxic if it gets into our bodies, it is only safe for external use.

Numbing cream has been growing more popular through the industry lately. I personally do no supply it, nor will I tattoo a first time client with it on. Be sure to do in depth research before using products like this since they can cause serious injuries.
